consider that broken sleep

our son recruits forevermore a loon
to his tribe

with great abundance he abides and he
concludes that the
living metaphor is a game oh so sweet

He'd be typing a book of mysteries

among the many yet to complete
as I wondered which side I liked best in thee
being friendly or the you who would plainly disagree

that only two or three will ever notice the moon

while that angel is going through my sheets
I sit with a broken thigh
consider that wrestling feat
and my brethrens deed
when the waking life is more akin to a dream
so what else should I bequeath
to this child?
